My Project
Dear Future Donors, there are so many things I can tell you about my students. They ask so many questions about the latest books that came out, the coolest things they are interested in and books I have never even heard of. I am not certified but I can tell we lack a lot of media that they want to read. I see the same books being returned and checked out over and over again. I would love to give them something new to read.
Have you ever wondered where the Bermuda Triangle is or wondered why Walt Disney was told he couldn't work because he had a lack of "imagination?" My students wonder the same things.
They have asked for many new books but with the lack of funding at our school, I can't get any books for them. I've even paid out of pocket to replace books that were so worn out, there was no longer a binding on it, the back was ripped off, there were crayon markings or it's been lost.
I have many new students who are still learning how to read and speak in English so if I can get books in Spanish, they can continue to read and learn how to be Bilingual. I want everyone to have an opportunity to read the books they can and not fear trying to get a book from the public library and questioned about their living status. They can be who they are and read what is readily available to them. Thank you for helping our little school. We do not know where we would be without your help.
