My Project

The Wall of Empowerment project is designed to create a supportive and uplifting environment in our high school classroom. By giving students a space to share and read positive affirmations, this project will nurture their social-emotional well-being, boost self-esteem, and foster a sense of belonging.

In today’s fast-paced and often stressful world, students need daily encouragement to help them face academic and personal challenges with resilience and confidence.

I plan to implement the Wall of Empowerment by dedicating a section of our classroom to display colorful sticky notes, cards, and posters filled with affirmations, motivational quotes, and kind words written by students and staff. Each week, we will begin with a brief reflection or affirmation-writing activity, encouraging students to contribute to the wall and support one another. The station will be accessible throughout the day, allowing students to add or take affirmations whenever they need a boost, and I will also model and encourage positive language as part of our classroom culture.

My classroom is unique because it is made up of a diverse group of students with different backgrounds, strengths, and experiences, many of whom face challenges both in and out of school. By creating a Wall of Empowerment, I want to celebrate this diversity and give every student a voice, helping them see the value in themselves and each other. This project will not only strengthen individual confidence but also build a more connected and caring classroom community where everyone feels seen, heard, and inspired.
