My students need a Pedometer System with individual downloadable pedometers to accurately measure their steps and fitness levels. I currently do not have an adequate or efficient way to access their activity level during PE class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Great Expectations Model School and an A+ school. Our students strive to model all the expectations to make our school excellent. Our students come to school with a desire to learn and to be the best they can be. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and we have a diverse population in an inner-city, low-income public school in Oklahoma City. Our school has approximately 345 students in grades PreK-5th. All of our children receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
I am working to increase our school's overall fitness levels. Our school's physical education program keeps our students active in a variety of games, lessons and activities.
However, I currently do not have an efficient and adequate method to individually track each students movement and participation in class.
This is a complete Pedometer System that can digitally track all steps and activity level. Forty-five pedometers are included as well as two digital readers with software, rolling cart and a pocket storage system. The students can quickly and easily scan their pedometer to the computer via the data reader at the end of class. I can then generate and print out a variety of reports to measure specific and overall fitness levels.
I have personally witnessed this system implemented with great success at another elementary school in our district. This will also be a more accurate method to record participation and fitness based grades.
