My Students
My 5th-grade students are wonderful and inquisitive. They enter the classroom ready to learn and explore. They are bright and curious learners.
Technology is revolutionizing how today's students learn and think about learning at every stage.
In today's world, social media and technology are changing the way teachers teach and students learn!
My students feel empowered when they use technology in our classroom. They know how to use Google Classroom, QR codes, create interactive polls, research, and are just starting to learn how to create multimedia presentations and podcasts.
However, we are unable to use any of these amazing resources because we do not have any technology in our classroom!
My Project
My students need the book Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech for the second unit of study in November. This novel is highly engaging, yet allows for discussion of hard topics. This book always intrigues our readers and gets them excited for fifth grade. However, since the pandemic, we have given away most of our copies so that our students would be able to read along with us while they were learning remotely. This unit is always so much fun for my students. Your donation will help us get Walk Two Moons so that our new students next year will be able to have their own copy of the novel.
Now more than ever, we need to provide our students with an engaging education, while at the same time, fostering their emotional development.
Our shared read-alouds truly bring some sort of togetherness, whether we are learning remotely or in person. We want our students' shared read-aloud experience to be as fun and normal as possible.
