Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are wonderful young people who have had varied and often unfortunate experiences throughout their school experience, leading them to transfer to our school to finish earning their diploma. Many have developed a certain amount of school avoidance, much like students around the nation in the aftermath of the pandemic shut-down. Thus, waking up can be hard, and making it through the day can be, too.

Please help me give my students alarm clocks that are NOT phones (since no one needs those nearby at bedtime); batteries to operate our current set of mini desk fans for comfort; and converters to connect some old mic/headphone combos that allow students to speak more softly when it's necessary to record their voice for an assignment.

All these miscellaneous tech bits and bobs will go a long way toward improving my students' school day experience, as well as—I hope—getting them up on time to enjoy it!
