Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The students in the third grade spend a great deal of time studying weather. They measure and record temperature, observe and analyze cloud patterns, compare weather forecasts to the actual weather and make models of the water cycle. Every effort possible is made to make the content as fun and interesting as possible. The Franklin Institute has a number of exciting traveling shows that help foster an interest in Science and at the same time reinforce the concepts being taught. One such show "How to Build a Storm The Weather Show" teaches the students about thermodynamics, air masses and fronts. These shows are aligned to the National Science Education Standards and are high quality. I would love to have an opportunity to show this show to the students I teach. I think it would help foster an interest in science that could eventually lead to a possible career choice for some of the students. Please help bring this wacky weather show to our school.
