My Students

The children walk into our building full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them each and every day. Their imagination and innovation are unprecedented. Each child has their own curiosities.

Our building is a Title I school in Michigan where 100% of our students receive the free breakfast and lunch program.

Despite many hardships, our students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can continue to grow and be successful one day. Their curiosity suggests a future of lifelong learning.

My Project

Children begin their year of exploration with play in the water table. Discovering pouring, measurement, comparing size and volume all while developing our social skills. As we move through the year, we begin painting independently to express ourselves and discover color mixing. During these various explorations, we need to protect our bodies and clothes to reduce the amount of changes happen during the day and laundry for parents at night.

Providing our classroom with waterproof long sleeved smocks will help to keep us protected during these exciting activities.

The alphabet rug will increase our students exposure to letters and provide us with a special location for reading or playing literacy games within our classroom. The measurement chart will promote a lot of discussions involving math and comparing heights as well as growth throughout the year. The bins will help provide a spot for our recently received yoga mats to go after our mindfulness time is over each day.
