This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Rather than staying at their desks all day, students frequently move from desks to the carpet to change things up and stretch a bit. Our rug is a place to gatherr as a community, discuss our ideas, read, relax, and learn from each other. A classroom carpet free of lint, hair, and debris makes our rug an inviting spot to learn and share ideas.

In our class, EVERYONE helps keep our learning space clean and organized.

This shared responsibility fosters a sense of ownership and pride in our classroom. Each week a different table of students dusts, sweeps, and vacuums to keep the detritus of our busy school off our class floors. We have several brooms, feather dusters, and Clorox wipes. Now we need a vacuum cleaner that keeps up with all the dirt we drag in. We need a strong, reliable, lightweight, cordless Dyson vacuum cleaner to keep our classroom rug clean.
