This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are young, excited learners with diverse backgrounds. They are always eager to take on new challenges and explore. My students are high achievers and are from different, economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for free lunch programs.
My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who love doing things hands-on, moving and being creative.
They love working together and creating ideas. The school that they attend is half Arts Magnet and half regular school. My students are a part of the regular school; therefore, they don't have access to resources that the Arts Magnet school does.
My Project
My volleyball team is on the move. We are playing hard, winning, and increasing our knowledge of the game. We love volleyball and are eager to play as much volleyball as we can. Our team is in need of more volleyballs as the ones we are using now are getting old and tearing apart.
Volleyball is another outlet for my girls to learn about teamwork, self-confidence, and working through challenges.
The more balls I have, the more drills we can do. More balls being used in practice allows girls to have a ball to themselves to work on individual skills.
