Volleyball Team Needs Supplies

My students need 1 volleyball cart, 16 volleyballs, 8 training kits, 2 diagram clipboards, and 1 set of net antennas.

My Students

There are many benefits to playing on a sports team, some include exercise, social interaction, perseverance, and self-esteem. Students on my school's volleyball team hold high grades in their academic classes and dedication towards their school team. They deserve the best!!

The young ladies who are on the school volleyball team practice after school three times a week and commit themselves to weekend tournaments for several months.

These students hold the highest grades in their classes and even spend time helping others when needed. These girls come from very diverse backgrounds and different neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn. To say that these students show the true value of teamwork is an understatement; they're like a family. The same way that they work together on the court, they do so in school. If one girl is struggling the other come to their aide. Now don't these girls deserve all we can give them? I am the school band director and see these girls throughout the day and want to help in any way I can. So I decided to write this proposal on the team's behalf.

My Project

These resources will help give these girls a chance to defend their championship title and repeat last year's success. There are waist bands that help students practice their serve and even bands that wrap around their ankles to help practice their bumping skills. The chosen volleyballs provide students with a soft exterior to use for indoor volleyball. The cart will allow for students to access the volleyballs quickly for speed drills and the clipboards will allow team captains to draw up plays for the team. Students will learn how to create and execute plans on the court. This will develop their leadership skills and higher order thinking skills.

These materials will bring great success to these well-deserving young ladies.

With all the time they dedicate to the team, I wish we could provide them with every training accessory out there, but our budget will not allow for it. Please consider donating to bring these supplies to such great students.
