Volleyball Team Equipment

My Students

Hey coach how are we going to play volleyball without a net? Unfortunately this question is a reality for the players of our team. We have an eager team willing to train, but we do not have the proper equipment.

Most of our girls didn't start playing volleyball until they got to high school, sometimes not until their junior or senior year.

The teams we have played in the past have played the game longer and been more skilled, but our girls have a strong desire to play the game of volleyball, so they never quit. This desire to succeed on the court transfers to their academics as well. They have realized they can use hard work and determination in the classroom to get great results. Our school is quite diverse with a minimum of 54 different languages spoken, and a complement to support hearing impaired and deaf students. We are also a Title 1 school, which means most of our students come from low income backgrounds. All this in one school my seem like obstacles, but our team prevails. Our team is made up of a little bit of all these factors. They communicate with each other despite language barriers and continue to stay committed through what their lives may bring.

My Project

The remodeling of our school left our equipment at the whim of movers. We are without a net and the antennas needed for competitive play. Although we have volleyballs, they are without a practical home of a ball cart. With proper equipment, we will be able to play the sport we love, promote being a team player, working through defeat, being gracious in victory and staying determined and committed to a cause.

With so many budget cuts in our district there is no guarantee about the quality of our equipment or even if we will get any.

Your kind donation will give our team opportunity and hope to give this sport our all, in turn making us better players, better teammates, better students, and better citizens.
