My students need six volleyballs and an electric pump so that we can start a middle school volleyball team. Without these items we can not participate in the league.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have not been exposed to a lot of extracurricular activities or sports. I have a love and passion for volleyball and would like to pass this on to my students. There is also a league forming for volleyball in which I would like to enter.
My students are a group of highly active and highly motivated kids, but they are lacking the necessary equipment to become more well-rounded students in the area of sports.
My students attend a Baltimore City Middle School in a very poor area. Parental support is not much, so I'm trying to do my part as a teacher, mentor, and coach through the utilization of teamwork and team sports.
My Project
With the six volleyballs and electric pump that you provide, my students will learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work, and they will be provided with an after-school outlet. This will hopefully open their eyes to trying other sports that they would normally look at as uninteresting or too hard. Exposing kids to new things opens their minds to trying other things in the future.
Donating to my project will have great impact on my students.
My project will inspire kids to become and have a more active lifestyle, and they will be exposed to a sport they have never had a chance to try because of lack of equipment. This will provide my students with an after-school outlet, preventing them from engaging in negative after-school activities.
