Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year at this school, and already I am inspired by the heart, determination, and potential of my students. They are eager to learn, full of curiosity, and bring diverse experiences and languages into the classroom. Many of them are English language learners, and all of them thrive when instruction feels meaningful, accessible, and engaging. I love how they support one another, celebrate each other’s growth, and light up when they feel understood.

How Each Resource Will Help Them Learn:

Number cards will give all students especially those still developing language skills, a simple, nonverbal way to demonstrate understanding.

Picture visuals will support vocabulary development by helping students connect words with real-life images and contexts.

Sentence strips, both paper and magnetic, will make word building and sentence practice hands-on and fun, boosting fluency and comprehension.

Dry-erase markers will make learning more interactive and responsive, helping students revise, share, and explore language with confidence.

Board borders will help create welcoming, organized vocabulary spaces that make language visible and accessible every day.

These resources will help me build a strong foundation in my first year and, more importantly, give my students the tools they need to feel seen, supported, and successful in their language journey.
