This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials in this project—speech and language games, room décor, and ink for printing therapy visuals—will make a huge difference in how my students engage and grow in speech sessions. The games are specifically chosen to promote language development, turn-taking, problem-solving, and articulation practice in a way that feels fun and natural. The inviting décor will help create a warm, safe space where students feel comfortable taking risks and expressing themselves. The ink will allow me to create customized materials, visual supports, and interactive worksheets that align with each student’s individual goals, ensuring that therapy is tailored and effective.

My goal is to create an engaging and supportive speech room environment that fosters communication, confidence, and connection.

I want my students to walk into a space that feels exciting and motivating—a place where they can have fun while developing critical speech and language skills. With the right materials, I can make therapy sessions more dynamic, individualized, and productive. I also want to ensure that I’m equipped to support a variety of learning styles and needs, especially through visuals and hands-on resources.

My students are incredibly resilient, curious, and eager to learn. Many of them face communication challenges that can affect their academic and social experiences, but they show up every day ready to try their best. They thrive when given the right tools and encouragement—and when speech therapy is interactive and engaging, they make remarkable progress. Each child brings a unique personality and perspective to our sessions, and I’m so proud of the hard work and determination they show. This project is all about giving them the resources they need to shine.
