I teach a classroom full of 24 high energy second grade students who are enthusiastic about learning. I am the general education teacher serving special education students, ESL students, and a variety of diverse needs. Some of my students come from low income families and are on free and reduced meals. Our school serves a variety of communities including both affluent and low income students. My students love to work cooperatively and are so welcoming to every child. We greet each other every morning and we take time each week to share something positive about our week. My students are kind, inspirational, motivated, and unique. I am so excited to see what they can accomplish.
My Project
A classroom environment determines a student's mood, motivation, sense of security to make mistakes, and achieve personal and academic success. They learn and grow so much within our four walls and I want to make our room a special, safe, and welcoming environment for them.
Flexible seating in our classroom will give students voice and choice in their learning.
By having seating choices, such as yoga balls and low pillow chairs, they are able to identify with an option that helps them learn best. When they are comfortable and can get their energy out in a calm way, they are more apt to stay focused to instruction. Therefore, students are more engaged in their learning experiences. We thank you for supporting our learning environment!
