My Students
My school is located in Stonemountain, GA. Most of our students are from nearby motels where they provide shelters for homeless families. As this tells so much about our school, I service students with special needs in a interrelated setting. My students are emotionally very weak as they don't have any opportunity to see success in their efforts. They lost interest in learning. As a passionate teacher for these children, I am trying to incorporate technology in my instruction which they love to handle when they learn. As I have only one student desktop at my class, I couldn't actively engage all my students without behavior issues as everyone struggles to earn their technology time. Most of my students only touch technology devices only at school. In this competitive world, I want my students to be knowledgeable in all sources and develop their self esteem to try until they show success.
My Project
I am requesting couple of classroom items to expose my special needs students in a vocabulary rich, connected numeracy skills in an independent station to listen to teacher's direction through their personalized headphones. Every student's needs and their learning styles are different, so as a professional educator I would like to give my students the necessary materials in their hands to develop their vocabulary span with the teacher given directions using math and language skills.
My students like to be independent and show their skills and knowledge.
They never get an opportunity inside their regular education class. In my class, this will be the door opening for them to shine in their inclusive setting.
