My Students

My students are diverse and come from all over the world!

They are learning English as a New Language as well as adapting to their new environment!!

They are engaged in the process and a joy to teach. My school is a wonderful community of teachers and students. Though our school is great, it comes with challenges as a Title 1 school. We struggle to meet the needs of our students, because of lack of rigorous, innovative, and fun items in the classroom, which would engage students and encourage learning!

My Project

I teach English Language Learners from grades K-5th.

I have several newcomers that do not speak any English.

Having books and activities of everyday items/actions in English and Spanish would help my students learn the English language. Most of us will never know the struggle that these children face day to day with not knowing or understanding our English language. The materials that I am requesting will provide vivid pictures with intentional objectives for them to practice and use in their daily conversations with peers and other adults.
