My students need fun and engaging games while learning to read! Vocabulary Match-Ups is a hands-on learning game that will help my Second Graders build language skills.

My Students

Second graders strive to make sense of the world around them. My second graders are eager to learn. They are at the prime age. Second grade is the year they start reading to learn.

Each child is unique, caring, and loving.

They can be shy, serious, goofy, or moody. I have 18 students at all different stages in their learning. However, just like all students, they need structure and security in their lives. We are so excited to be on this journey together.

My Project

Reading and writing are essential for a successful life. Second Graders are still learning how to read. Therefore, I have chosen many games for us to play.

All students have a desire to learn.

Word Patterns Practice Cards encourage children to read and write. This game will allow hand-writing practice as well. Phonics Fun Wheels will be another hands-on game that can be played alone, with a partner, or in a small group. Who wouldn't like to play this game? Vocabulary Match Up has many puzzles that teach students about homophones, synonyms, antonyms, context clues, and multiple meaning words. "Plus, the puzzles are all self-checking for instant reinforcement." All are vital parts of reading.
