My Project
This engaging project will provide my special education inclusion classes with all the materials needed to create vivariums – self-contained environments that promote not only ecological learning but also mental health and wellness. These vivariums will serve as a powerful tool for nurturing both science exploration and emotional well-being.
By building vivariums, students will engage in hands-on activities that promote focus, mindfulness, and stress relief.
Caring for plants and small creatures within their vivariums will foster a sense of responsibility and connection to nature, creating a calming environment within the classroom. Students will learn about ecosystems while benefiting from the mental health boost that nature provides.
Through teamwork, communication, and shared responsibilities, students will maintain their vivariums, while also reflecting on how these living environments bring peace and focus into their day-to-day lives. By supporting this project, you'll equip my classroom with the tools to help students explore both the wonders of science and the importance of mental health.
