Every leader in this school is in this classroom learning everyday. They amaze me with their creativity and ingenuity. It is amazing to see their growth in music and in their lives. It's difficult to be innovative in a room that isn't as creative a space as we need it to be.
They are in charge of their learning and are on a path to success.
They come to school ready to learn and excite me to teach to my full potential. They deserve the environment to be as inspiring as the people in this room.
My Project
Vivaldi is the composer of the famous and recognizable Four Seasons violin concertos. Using seasonal light filters will help to relax the students in a music room that is new to them this year.
These students come to a cinder block room with no windows everyday.
It is not a welcoming creative space. All the students at this school are new to the building. In their old building, the students were in a room with big windows, experiencing natural light. They had been learning music in that room for the past 2-4 years. The lights in this new music room are too glaring. We use some lamps, but it still seems too dark with the lights off. I've seen a few articles about how toning down the fluorescent light with light filters is beneficial to learning and the health of students. Many teachers use these light filters with positive results in better behavior. I feel we all will benefit from the light filters with seasonal designs.
