This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello everyone, I am a preschool special education teacher, and I currently have 8 students. We are big on Inclusion so we collaborate most of the day with the state preschool on our campus (total of 25 students). Collaborating with the state preschool has helped their learning grow. All of my students come from a low-income background, and they are very eager to learn.

My Project

Visuals in early childhood special education help our kiddos learn expressive and receptive language. My students respond quicker to visual images instead of texts. These materials will help our classrooms' environment become more picture rich. This will facilitate a lot of our learning because they will be able to refer to the pictures once the spoken words are no longer present. Visuals are definitely a big part of students learning and will definitely help me teach my kiddos. These materials will also introduce my students to the reading and witting process and give them an opportunity to view print in a way that if meaningful.
