This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class consists of 20 pre-kindergarten students. My school is a Title I school with 77.2% of students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. My class is an inclusion class that consists of general education and special education students. Therefore, because I am teaching very young children with different abilities and levels, it is essential to differentiate my instruction and make it engaging.

My students enjoy learning about the world around them. With that being said, I have students who are still learning the English language. Communication is a huge part of our daily life. When students do not have the same language as their peers, they struggle to communicate and connect with peers and can fall behind in academics. I want to open the education world even further to my ELL students so they can comprehend everything that is happening in our classroom. I want to be able for them to speak to their peers and feel comfortable as they learn a new language.
This project will provide English Language Development cards that will provide activities for students to practice the English language and prepare for their English assessment. The project will focus on them learning the English language through play by having them use the Spark Innovations Sequence game to teach them how to retell a story in English. This project will open so many doors for my students and prepare them to be successful in their education.
