Mrs. Gorglione from Memphis TN is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students' learning would be completely enhanced with the addition of a visual presenter to my classroom.

I teach first grade in a very large urban location in Tennessee. My students are African-American plus one Hispanic student. Most of my students qualify for free-lunches and funding is extremely limited. Our class motto is: We try our best everyday to listen, learn and remember.
I teach a congested class of 25 mixed-ability first graders who all need my assistance simultaneously. I am a highly motivated teacher working to create a literate classroom. I cannot teach each student and answer all questions at the same time. There is a daily lag in my instruction as I work my way around my classroom. All of my students want to achieve; they just need a little help or encouragement from their teacher. A visual presenter could allow all students to follow my instruction and dramatically enhance learning and time restraints.
Overhead projectors just don't work in this new technological age. Students in first grade need one-on-one instruction when reading or working on activities. A visual presenter would allow all of my students to observe my actions and my words as I teach each lesson. The possibilities are boundless: worksheets will be a breeze to complete when all students can be taught at the same time. The use of a visual presenter will create a fairer learning environment because all students would have the ability to answer questions at the same time. The would be no waiting for the teacher to "get around to them." A visual presenter would allow instruction to progress in a more timely manner. More learning in less time! Overhead films and slides would be a thing of the past and no longer waste ink, storage or organizational time. Not to mention it would be better for the environment to phase out this wasteful use of plastic.
Your donation will empower me to meet all of the needs of my urban learners. Your gift of a visual presenter will allow me to deliver the maximum quality instruction in an engaging, authentic manner.
