Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are full of energy, though they can be easily discouraged when they do not understand the work or math processes right away. They are continually striving to understand how math relates to the real world. They also enjoy new and different ways of learning for their individual learning zones. All of my students are in an innovative math program that strives to meet their needs on an individual and group level. These students thrive under instruction and when immersed in a healthy learning atmosphere.
My Project
These whiteboards will encourage students to work out math problems and enable them to visualize their work more effectively. In order to excel in math, it is necessary for students to visualize their work and see mathematical processes in an ordered fashion. Students enjoy new and exciting ways to do their work; these whiteboards will provide the opportunity to satisfy both a new way of taking notes and allow them to see their work. The bins and lids will keep the whiteboards organized while not in use and allow for easy accessibility. The math program these students are in is very time rigid. Whiteboard timers will permit students to see how much time they have left in a session to complete their skill for the day.
