Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have many challenges they need to overcome. The majority come from low income families, they are willing to learn and adapt to their learning environment. Although many do not have technology at home, they love to learn and to be introduced to new technology. They take on projects with a smile on their face. We use different learning strategies and learn about new programs, although many do not have the materials to work with, I ensure that their needs are met. They are a great group of students I am glad to have them.

My Project

I would like to add TI-84 graphing calculators to increase my students knowledge of technology. Having these calculators I can have a station for my students to graph, make conjectures of their finding, and draw conclusions.

Students will be able to visualize the math, reference what their classmates are finding.

The use of different colors on the graphs help students reference the line or curve they are referring too. While at home I can use one to teach them how to use a graphing calculator, since they are allowed during most standardized testing.
