My students have been out of class since March 17th and moved to virtual learning as of April 13th. Our governor has closed our schools for the rest of the school year and there is a possibility that remote learning could continue on into the fall. We are currently meeting virtually via Google Meets. We provide our parents with parent plans and paper activities/work, so students who do not have access to technology still have an opportunity to continue learning.
My students miss their friends and teachers, and they are just seeking a little normalcy in their lives.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of resources, I am only able to meet with a little more than 1/2 of my students. If I am able to get resources for my students, I plan on delivering the resources to all of my students, while maintaining social distancing. I can't wait to see their little faces if they get the opportunity to have some new learning materials that will last them throughout the summer!
My Project
By giving my students coloring books, coloring materials, and reading books, we are providing opportunities for the students to utilize their fine motor and reading skills. I can't wait to see where their imagination takes them!
Every Friday my students get the opportunity to show off what they are reading or what they have colored.
During our last show and share day, my students were sharing their monster trucks, cars, and items that they drew. My students would be so excited if they got to show off their reading with these monster and princess books! They would also be so excited to use their new crayons to color a page in their coloring books. They can also use these crayons to color the coloring pages that I send out every week that were designed by our very own security guard.
