I am requesting ten "Post-It Table Top Easel Pads" (or something similar) for both my world Studies and History of Chicago classes (approximately 140 students). These pads would allow my Freshmen (World Studies students) to exhibit their ancient world travel posters throughout the classroom. Through our "travel seminar" students will attempt to induce other students to come and visit their assigned countries. These pads would also be wonderful for my History of Chicago class which will be doing neighborhood studies. The pads will be used in the creation of a massive city neighborhood map that will be displayed in the school. They will also allow students to display (throughout the school) the breakdowns of their assigned neighborhoods (by race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and available resources), so that all students can see the people that make up their city. Gwendolyn Brooks is a Title One school (with a majority of students receiving aid) that recruits gifted kids from throughout the city. These supplies would allow my students to not only easily display their work but also gain pride from the positive feedback that they will receive from both staff and students. On behalf of my students and myself, I thank you for considering my request!
