My Students
Our art room is bare! Help me to motivate them visually, with colorful posters and art reproductions. Frames for their art will provide a 'gallery style' look to the classroom and give them confidence in the work they are doing.
Our students are inner-city kids who are tough on the outside, but all heart on the inside.
Our school is comprised of a very small amount of students, and since we don't have our own building, we are housed on half of one floor of a much, much larger school. They work hard and they really LOVE ART, which makes my job very enjoyable!
My Project
Educational posters and reproductions of famous artwork will help to stimulate the students' senses and creativity. Sometimes something they see will suddenly inspire them. I believe this is the key to jump start their imaginations! I will be able to refer to the specific works of art I am teaching by pointing to the poster, instead of relying on black and white xeroxes like I have in the past. These posters can also initiate class discussions on art, aesthetics, and more!
Additionally, with mat board frames, I will be able to hang up student work with flair. The students will learn about framing and measuring. They will also get a kick out of seeing their work mounted as the professionals do!
Through your generous donation, we will finally have a colorful, lively and even more educationally visual classroom than ever before.
