Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be using these ten-frames in various sizes and formats, such as single ten-frames, double ten-frames, and even larger sets like twenty-frames. This variety allows students to choose the tool that best fits the problem they're solving. Since I work with Deaf students I also tend to have colorful learning tool to help them differentiate. Using colored counters or markers with the ten-frames to help students visualize different quantities or groupings, making it easier for them to see patterns or relationships in numbers.
My goal for this project is to enhance my students math comprehension by providing them with visual tools that make abstract concepts more concrete.
By incorporating ten frames into their learning, they will improve their ability to solve word problems, recognize number patterns, and develop a stronger foundation in math, ultimately leading to greater academic success.
My students are special because they are some of the most resilient students I've seen. The come from a very unique background, some being the only Deaf student in hearing families, all of them being multicultural and navigating life from a lens than most of us have to. My student deserve the resources to ensure their success and I intend on making sure they get it.
