The simple routine of receiving a snack before testing helped set a positive tone each morning, creating comfort and reducing stress in what can often be an anxious time.\r\n\r\nYour contribution did more than provide food—it created an environment of care and equity. Students were able to concentrate longer, feel confident, and give their best effort without the distraction of hunger. The impact reached beyond academics, showing our students that their community believes in them and is invested in their success. Once testing was over, student were still showing up ready to test and were a little bummed test was over and told me they were looking forward to testing next year. As a Teacher of the Deaf, most curriculum is not created with my students in mind causing it to not only be difficult to teach the curriculum to my students but also difficult for them to access the information and retain it. Most teachers of the Deaf have to create their own supplemental curriculums to accommodate their students causing us to work an additional 2-3 hours after school, work weekends, and holidays breaks (even though we should be recovering during this time). With your donation I was able to purchase supplemental resources that are fitting for my students that allows them to access grade level curriculum in a way that will help them retain the information. \r\nTeachers pay teachers is an amazing resources I use to find supplemental resources that adhere to the California State Standards as well as, fun and exiting for my students. Because of your support, my Deaf students now have access to swivel chairs that allow them to maintain visual access to the entire classroom without limitations.\r\n\r\nFor Deaf students, education is deeply tied to what they can see. Whether it's following discussions, engaging with interpreters, or accessing visual learning materials, being able to quickly and comfortably shift their gaze is essential. Traditional stationary chairs often create barriers, making it difficult for students to follow conversations, watch demonstrations, or fully participate in discussions.\r\n\r\nNow, thanks to you, my students can effortlessly turn to see their peers, their interpreter, and most importantly their teacher and the lesson provided—ensuring they don't miss valuable moments of learning.
