Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the privilege of sharing a classroom with future engineers, doctors, teachers, professional athletes, and lawyers. In fact, I have students that are going to create and fill jobs that do not even exist yet. I teach at a Title I school. My room houses two classes of Math/Science made up of 25 students each. The backgrounds that my students come from are diverse. I have many students who are learning to speak English as a second language. We learn a lot from one another. My students eagerly accept challenges and seize every opportunity that is presented to them.
My Project
The Silhouette Portrait 2 machine will be used to place the learning standards around the classroom, create engaging presentations and boards, and label items for student organization. It would also be a great way to create signs for student events. This machine can be easily used to create lessons and student-led interactive bulletin boards.
Having a Silhouette Portrait 2 in the classroom would allow me to create a learning environment that is unique and reflective of my classroom's personality.
I believe that having an engaging learning environment will, in turn, inspire students to try their best inside the classroom. Another thing I want to make for my classroom is an interactive number line that goes on the floor, so we can "act out" math problems.
