Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My math lab is a place where students will come to explore in depth their own thinking about math and the deeper meaning of what they are working on. They will have the chance in a small group to work together and extend their depth of knowledge with each other.
I teach at a Title I school in Arizona where all our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
They take pride in finding patterns and having a growth mindset and they are not afraid of failing.
My Project
This project will allow for more wall space in the classroom to be used to help students show their work visually. It will also allow the teacher another area in the room to explain and show students concepts in math.
Students love using whiteboards to show their work and explore their thinking.
One of the best activities I have my students do is use whiteboards to imagine and describe math concepts being taught. Students love the creative freedom whiteboards provide as well as the visual.
With this whiteboard, it will help my classroom become more complete as a learning environment. I want my students to be able to come in and be able to have as many ways to explore and visualize their learning.
