Help me give my students enhanced visual support. With a document camera to project onto the whiteboard, students can interact with any text that we are using to support their learning.

My Students
My students are inquisitive, eager learners who want to be successful and strive to improve daily. As English Language Learners, having the proper supports and scaffolds for learning is so important and truly impacting. I am the Grade 2 English Language Learner teacher for an elementary school in an impoverished urban area. I teach students who come from many cultural backgrounds with many different languages. Our common ground is learning English. I seek to support their learning with a variety of teaching techniques and tools to provide the most successful learning environment possible.
My Project
Having a document camera is a necessity for teaching today in any classroom. However it is even more critical to have one when teaching students who are trying to learn a new language while also learning grade level standards.
This document camera will allow me to project learning materials such as literature, images, activities and worksheets onto a whiteboard and enable students to interact with white board markers directly on the projected image on the whiteboard.
Providing visual supports and scaffolds is necessary for ESL students to be successful in not only learning a new language but also attaining academic content at their grade level.
