it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are creative, hardworking, and eager to learn. As 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in a classroom for deaf students, they thrive in hands-on, visual learning environments that foster their unique skills. To further their education and meet their needs, we are requesting iPads and tripods to enhance our learning through project-based activities.
Technology plays a critical role in making education accessible and engaging for my students.
With iPads, they can record themselves using American Sign Language (ASL) to create infomercials, presentations, and other projects that integrate core subjects like English, math, and social studies. The ability to watch their recordings allows them to analyze their work, improve their signing skills, and deepen their understanding of the material.
The tripods will help stabilize the iPads during recordings, ensuring clear, professional-quality videos. These tools will not only support ASL mastery but also allow students to collaborate on creative projects that promote teamwork and communication skills.
Through these projects, my students will build confidence in their signing and presentation abilities while developing 21st-century skills like digital literacy, problem-solving, and collaboration. These experiences will prepare them for future academic and career success.
