My Students

We have 86 lively and willing students in 3rd grade.

They always try their hardest to learn new things.

Each has a different personality and a different story. We are over 50% free and reduced lunch. Every year we host an Economics fair and each year we hope to make it even better and an even greater learning experience. We want to continue to provide these learning opportunities to our students and want to use Donors Choose for this. We are so grateful for every donation we get.

My Project

For two months, we will talk about our community and our local businesses. Then for two weeks, we will talk about economy. We will discuss, write, and read about supply and demand, money, factories, and businesses. As a finale, we would like to hold an Economics Fair. Each of our four classrooms will hold a different business. Students earn coins based on tasks completed at home and at school. In our first classroom, students will take orders and make s'mores. The next classroom would be a bowling alley via Nintendo Wii. Students will also get popcorn to eat. The next classroom will do face paint from a variety of designs. Our last classroom will create name necklaces. Students will order as they enter. We will have both goods and services in all classrooms. Our third grade community will turn into a city with a jewelry store, bowling alley, restaurant, and a spa.

Think about all the learning that will go on during this experience?

Students will master financial literacy, compute math, learn social skills, make a plan for earning and spending coins, design necklaces, make art, learn how to work with food, learn note taking, take turns, and the list could go on. This Econ Fair will make such a huge impact on each student.
