My Students

I am the math & science teacher for 5th & 6th grade at my school. These students vary in academic abilities and behavior goals.

My 5th and 6th graders inspire me every day.

Their attitudes, their work ethic, and their growth mindsets are contagious! They work hard to achieve their academic and behavior goals during the week.

We are a very small school. We have less than 250 students from Pre-K to 6th. Our Title I School will celebrate its 100th birthday next year!

My Project

Science class should be hands-on, engaging, and where they apply what they have learned about their science standards. I want to provide these unforgettable project-based learning experiences for my 5th & 6th graders.

The EiE "Outbreak Alert: Engineering a Pandemic Response" kit will make this an exciting learning experience and a lesson that these 6th graders will remember for years to come!

Students will become biomedical engineers as they explore how to prepare for outbreaks of highly contagious diseases. They will use the Engineering Design Process to design an antiviral to stop a newly discovered virus from infecting a model cell.
