My Students
This year I will be starting a new adventure in my teaching career. I will be working as a small group interventionist teaching struggling students in literacy from grades kindergarten to fourth grade. Being that I have been at my current school for 12 years now, I know most of the students that I will be teaching, which is awesome considering the current virtual learning model my school has adopted.
These students are an enthusiastic group of children who are very eager to learn.
They just need a few accommodations and modifications to help them feel confident and be successful in their academic school year. The students that I have had the pleasure of working with in the past years will be my new students again, as I will be virtually meeting with small groups to support them outside the classroom.
My Project
Being that our school is going to be 100 percent virtual at least until November, grades kindergarten through fourth grade need access to appropriate, quality, leveled books to help them through their virtual learning experience this year.
Students in all the primary grades will have a year long subscription to Time For Kids on their appropriate grade level and they will also have access to Time For Kids online.
Teachers will be using the Time subscriptions to continue to engage their learners in content specific material, all while teaching and enforcing reading behaviors and strategies to make them successful readers.
