My students each have an Individual Education Plan and are considered gifted by the state. These students process information at a faster pace and are highly motivated. Many of my students come from a multi-cultural background and several are immigrant children. They enjoy learning in a creative environment and flourish when given assignments that require them to think outside the box. Many students are already taking AP classes their freshman year. Several of my students enter into various academic competitions and are highly successful.
My Project
I have been teaching virtually for a semester. I drive to my school location to teach my students and provide consistent lessons. Lately, my district-issued computer freezes up and drops my meeting calls. Unfortunately, there are no available computers at my site that will enable me to teach using Microsoft Teams. I am requesting a Lenovo IdeaPad and an HP monitor to provide my students a wonderful virtual education.
A monitor would enable me to split my screen and stay connected with my students while I share my screen.
Each day is a challenge to stay connected with students and provide a meaningful learning experience. I would be grateful for a donation that would allow me to effectively do my job.
