This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My amazing 2nd grade class is made up of a diverse array of backgrounds. This includes English Language Learners, students with learning disabilities, Dyslexia, ADHD, BI, autism, as well as students coming from single-parent homes or migrant children living with relatives other than their parents. Despite these challenges most of my students face, I am extremely proud of their efforts and eagerness to learn. In our classroom as well as our school, we strive to provide all students with a quality education in a nurturing environment that helps produce well-rounded individuals ready to contribute to society.
My students are creative, inquisitive, and ready for new challenges.
They love to be involved in school projects and academic competitions to include Science Fair, Brainsville, UIL, and Coding.
Our school is located a few miles from the international border with Mexico which makes our student population very unique.
My Project
An Oculus - Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headset will allow my students to virtually visit and explore places they've never imagined. They will be able to engage in activities related to space and explore what it means to work in the aerospace field. They will be able to take trips into orbit and experience life on board the International Space Station! They will learn how to move and work in zero-gravity using your controllers and take spacewalks. They will be able to launch into space voyages right from our classroom.
