This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school where more than 91% of the student population qualifies for free and reduced lunch. We additionally have a large number of students who are at various levels of English Language Learning. Hope for a better future is an area we as a staff are working to instill in our students. Many of them don't believe they can have a better future than the one they exist. Therefore, we seek out opportunities to give them a competitive advantage in both college acceptance and careers that start prior to, during, or after college. The students at Century High School embody the vary definition of resiliency. It is my goal to add hope of a better future to their embodiment. The ability to cultivate advanced skills prior to exiting high school assures them a source of hope.

My Project

The world around us is headed toward ever evolving forms of technology, Virtual reality is one of these possible future to emerge as prominently as the smartphone.

Facebook wants to put 1 billion people in virtual reality headsets, my students need to be ready to seek careers in VR development.

The addition of mixed reality headsets to our game development curriculum will give students a firm rooting in VR development principals; by doing this we assure our students a sizable competitive advantage in becoming college and career ready over competing students. Given our students starting disadvantage, every stepping stone counts toward leveling the field of competition.

Unity 3D offers a host of add-in components which aid in VR/AR development. Additionally, my students can expand their development in to educational areas for students on campus, by creating educational applications for History, Art, Science, and Literature.
