My Students

At our school, many of our students are of lower economic status, but, man, do they have the drive to learn! Many of them come to us somewhat behind the eight ball. They have big hearts that want to learn and know more. Unfortunately, many of them do not get to have the experiences that other students have access to due to their lower economic status.

This is where we want to be able to provide them with some different tools to experience and learn about the past and present world around them within our school walls!

My Project

With so many of our students being of low economic status, many students do not get to go out and have experiences at museums, historical sights, vacations, etc. We hope to enhance student learning through the use of these virtual reality goggles. This will allow students to get in and see what certain situations, places, and experiences might have been like. There was one lesson I observed at another school where students were able to be in the trenches of World War II using virtual reality goggles. It was so neat to see the kids learn about this war through an in house experience. They truly saw what it was like to be there!
