Virtual Reality Creates the Modern Day Magic School Bus
My students need Google Expeditions Virtual and Augmented Reality headsets and devices so that they are able to become fully immersed in their learning experiences.
My students are ninth graders in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are just beginning the exciting journey that is high school. While they are beginning this journey, it is my hope that with your help I can provide them with the best education possible. They are eager and ready to learn.
As part of the largest high school in the Philadelphia School District, our students are almost always in need of new supplies.
With differing backgrounds and consistency in science education coming from early schooling, my students need to be given a consistent and well-stocked classroom to really prepare them for their high school education.
My Project
The Google Expeditions Virtual Reality Head Sets and Devices will allow my students to take virtual adventures while completely immersing them in the virtual and augmented reality worlds of science and history. With Google Expeditions students will be transported into the lung of a human being or onto a battlefield where revolutionaries once stood.
Rather than just taking notes on DNA, students will be able to see and touch each nucleotide base and every twist in the double helix right from their seats in the classroom.
They will be able to explore the inside of a tornado or watch the eruption of a volcano while creating their own scientific inquiries about the world around them.
These devices will open a world of exploration once only possible in our imaginations and on the television screen. Help turn me into Ms. Frizzle and allow my students to explore all the wonders of the world through virtual reality.
