My Students

I am excited to be teaching 7th-grade science this year. Our school is a middle school with a wonderfully diverse group of students. More than three-quarters of the students are from low-income households and have a lot of desire to learn.

It is important for them to have hands-on engaging lessons that provide a variety of methods to apply knowledge in practical situations.

Not only will they be applying their science skills, but they will be learning to work together to achieve goals.

My Project

This year teaching a unit about cells virtually is going to be more of a challenge than ever. Microscopes are one of the best parts of science for students. This year because everyone is virtual, I still want to be able to provide my students with the experience of using a microscope. I want to keep my kids engaged and excited about science and school!

I will be using the microscope and hooking it up so that my students can observe a number of items on some amazing slides that I already have for students.
