Help me give my students kindles for a virtual library.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Jackson's classroom raised $585
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are from a low socioeconomic area in Cleveland, Ohio. Most of the homes my students come from are one-parent households and are below or at the poverty level. Having technology at home or readily available for them is not their norm. Furthermore, the only time they are exposed to technology is during class time or school hours.
My students are enthusiastic learners, curious, and explorers.
They are not afraid of nor do they shy away from a challenge
My Project
As we transition back into a brick and mortar classroom setting, we are facing new challenges. Due to the COVID 19 we are not allowed to have a classroom library for fear of contamination. Can you image a class without a library? My students love to read and not having books or a library have been real challenge.
The kindles can resolve two issues.
One, the concern about spreading germs or COVID 19. The Kindles can easily be disinfected after every use. Two, my class will finally have the opportunity to explore and read books via kindle technology.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
