This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning I check in with my students to see how they're feeling and whether they have any questions about the assignments I post. Although, this transition has been difficult my students are hard workers and motivated to reach their goals.
I teach in a primarily immigrant and working-class neighborhood in Los Angeles.
My students come from very supportive families who are involved and concerned. They are helping their children daily on online assignments during this Pandemic.
My Project
As a Teacher of Distance Learning, I am in BIG need of a laptop so that I'm able to zoom with my students daily. They need to continue getting the education they deserve and continue to thrive despite this Pandemic. Right now, I'm using my phone or school iPad and it's really difficult to present my lessons. Students often say they can't hear me and I have to toggle over between screens to see my students' faces. I need to ensure my students learn the concepts and skills they need to succeed in 4th grade. A laptop would really benefit our new "normal" being that we're unsure of when we'll be back at school. I have also applied to teach Summer school! Therefore I am in need of this laptop, this way I can facilitate virtual lessons. Thank you for looking into my project. Truly appreciative of people like YOU!
