My Students

I am a reading teacher at an elementary school which serves students grades PreK-5th. Our school is a community school located in an impoverished urban area. The pandemic has hit our students hard. A majority of our students have fallen below one to two grade levels. Currently I support seventy-five second graders. As we pivot between in person/virtual teaching at a moments notice, my goal is to provide students with essential materials to use in class and to take home when virtual learning is necessary. My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers offers thousands of readily available digital lessons that correspond with our district’s curriculum. I will be able to provide my students with hands on materials to use in the classroom and also create sets for each child’s ‘to go’ bag. As we pivot to virtual learning at a moments notice, having a ‘to go’ bag ready for every student to take home is essential. Materials such as sight word cards and ELA activities will support student independent work that matches virtual lessons at a variety of levels.
