Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is not up to date with incorporating technology in the classroom and my students with autism shouldn't be left behind. Since they have an intellectual disability, technology and social play can assist them with reaching their learning goals. My students are a wonderful group of preschoolers who attend a low-income PreK-5 public school in California. My job is to make sure they receive the best education possible regardless of their learning ability.
My goal is to have students learn simple things like shapes, colors, numbers and the alphabet by infusing music and technology into the curriculum.
Also, outside learning activities can assist with developing social play skills and understanding how to play games will assist with following directions. I want the best for my students and I hope you will partner with me as I endeavor to help my students meet their educational goals.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by being able to read through classic board books like "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.
The Play-Doh is a modeling compound used by young children for arts and crafts projects at home and with the supervision of their caregiver, the students can make different things with their hands.
The manipulatives like the blocks and gears, will be used as counting materials or they can be used to develop hand and eye coordination as these items can be locked together of taken apart. The flat trays will be used to keep all of the books, Play-Doh toys and accessories and manipulatives in one central area during home activity time.
