My Students
Currently, I teach first grade at a low income, high needs elementary school in North Carolina. Our school values are learning, family, and fun.
Every day, my goal is to embody those values and bring them to life in my classroom whether we be in-person or virtual!
I want my students to have a quality learning experience no matter what other obstacles we may encounter. I truly love teaching and I am forever grateful for donors like you!
My Project
This school year, I am a remote teacher for 1st grade. While I am very excited, I am also a little nervous. The goal of this project is to make learning more accessible while also fun in these uncertain times. The earbuds have built in mics so the students are able to plug them into their school provided iPads and better hear our daily lessons, it will reduce their home distractions (parent working, other sibling, pets, ect.) this will better help them to learn while at home.With the polymailer packages the students will be sent manipulatives, new books, a letter from me/the school, or incentives during this remote learning period. This will also make it more accessible for families who are unable to travel back and forth to the school due to transportation, health, or other reasons. This will provide the students with enough mailers to mail each student 5 different packages this school year.

I also requested a tablet stand holder, Giant Sized Magnetic Handwriting, and some other items to assist me in teaching virtually. The tablet stand holder will be to record my lessons via Zoom. The Giant Sized Magnetic Handwriting will be used behind me in Zooms when I teach writing. The desk calendar will assist me during my Zooms when I teach calendar time daily. The Better Than Paper Bulletin Board will be placed behind me and used as a teacher space at home when I am teaching from home.
