This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing. Most of them have been at the school since kindergarten and our school is special because we can really develop a close relationship with each individual student as they grow up.
As a school with a bilingual program, students are immersed in rigorous instruction in both English and Spanish.
There are numerous benefits to being bilingual, and students work very hard to access the curriculum despite it being a challenge. We have both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant speakers, which means that one hundred percent of our students are second language learners.
My Project
Remote learning is tough for everyone. We are struggling to keep students engaged and getting their work submitted so that they can continue being successful learners
My students will use these tools to help them primary in math, but also for self reflection during our advisory blocks.
The whiteboards, dry erase markers and erasers will all be used to go along with the app that we use for math, classkick.com. Students have a hard time drawing representations and showing math easily and efficiently. The whiteboards will allow them to do their work and take a picture to upload.
