Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have about 40 virtual 5th & 6th grade students right now. I can say that I have a good connection with majority of them. My students are so caring and are always willing to try new things during class My students are very compassionate with one another and have a huge interest in learning. They are hungry to learn new things and are always very understanding and open minded to everything. They are the reason I wake up and go happy to work.

My Project

As we all know, motivating students in a virtual learning environment is very hard, especially when they don't have the option to come back to in-person learning because of health and circumstantial reasons they have no control over. I am planning on beginning a point system for all my students in where they will earn points for reading achievements and class citizenship.

I need help with providing incentives that will benefit their reading development and hope to build their love for reading.

I am requesting 5 copies of top books my students have requested throughout the year (meaning they will be interested in this point system), With this, I hope to motivate students into taking more accountability for their learning and class performance.

I will pay for the postage needed for the books to be delivered to the kids (since majority of my students do not live in the city I live in), I just need the books to send to students. I will have enough books for students to each student to have A LEAST one book by the end of the school year.
